I have called Marlborough home since 2017 and have lived in NH for over 4 decades. For many of those years I was a community health and nutrition educator with Cheshire County UNH Extension and currently work for the amazing local nonprofit, Rise for Baby and Family. I raised my family here in Cheshire County and want to ensure that our state remains a vibrant, affordable and welcoming place for future generations.

My concerns are like many of yours and those of our neighbors. Chief among them is property tax relief. Local property taxpayers are carrying an unfair burden. As the state fails to honor its funding commitments to public schools, the NH Retirement System, and local municipal aid, our property tax bills continue to climb. Meanwhile, state leaders have funneled public funds into expensive schemes like Education Freedom Accounts while cutting key state revenue streams. We rely far too heavily on local property taxes to fund essential public services, and it’s time for the state to pay its fair share.

Our mountains, lakes, and forests are not just beautiful—they are the backbone of our tourism economy and our way of life. We must make forward-thinking policy choices today to protect these natural resources for future generations. This means championing sustainable energy, ensuring clean drinking water, and finding smart solutions to reduce the waste flowing through our local transfer stations.

Last, but certainly not the least important is fair elections. Some of our most cherished democratic principles have been sorely tested in recent years through gerrymandering and restrictive voter ID laws. New Hampshire already has a safe, secure, and reliable voting system that guarantees our fundamental right to vote. I have volunteered at the polls in Marlborough each election day since I moved to town and am deeply appreciative of the local officials and volunteers who ensure our elections run smoothly. I will work to protect access to the ballot box for every eligible voter.

While I am running in Cheshire District 8, my husband, and current State Representative, Lucius Parshall, is running in Cheshire District 16. We hope to carpool to Concord together.
