This referendum is nothing more than a devious attempt to unconstitutionally sidestep the legislative and electoral process, after almost all school districts, with budget cap proposals on their warrants this spring and last year, saw them fail. Precedent was also set when, in 1999, the NH Supreme Court found a similar question amounted to an unconstitutional delegation of power by the Legislature. What the majority party does NOT tell us is, in order to reduce our burdensome property taxes the state needs to increase its court ordered share of school funding.
Another step taken in the unconstitutional direction by Free Staters.

Although the Education Freedom Accounts were initially created for students from families with incomes at or below 300% of the federal poverty level, eligibility has expanded to 350%.
The NH Constitution explicitly prohibits money raised by taxation from being used to fund religious schools, but families are using their EFAs to pay for rellgious schools. How is that possible?

John Osborne, NH House Majority Leader and leader of the Free Stater Caucus, called Democrats "communists" when announcing the NH House Republican Seven-Point Plan for the 2027 - 2028 session.
Terri contrasts items in the Seven-Point Plan with the current NH Republican policies and questions whether they will be able to achieve their aims. She also debunks Osborne's claim that this past year Democrats voted for more than $3.98 billion in tax hikes.
